Galactic chemical abundance evolution in the solar neighborhood up to the Iron peak

چکیده
We have developed a detailed standard chemical evolution model to study the evolution of all the chemical elements up to the iron peak in the solar vicinity. We consider that the Galaxy was formed through two episodes of exponentially decreasing infall, out of extragalactic gas. In a first infall episode, with a duration of ∼ 1 Gyr, the halo and the thick disk were assembled out of primordial gas, while the thin disk formed in a second episode of infall of slightly enriched extragalactic gas, with much longer timescale. The model nicely reproduces the main observational constraints of the solar neighborhood, and the calculated elemental abundances at the time of the solar birth are in excellent agreement with the solar abundances. By the inclusion of metallicity dependent yields for the whole range of stellar masses we follow the evolution of 76 isotopes of all the chemical elements between hydrogen and zinc. Those results are confronted with a large and recent body of observational data, and we discuss in detail the implications for stellar nucleosynthesis.

Abundance Ratios and Galactic Chemical Evolution
The metallicity of stars in the Galaxy ranges from [Fe/H]=−4 to +0.5 dex, and the solar iron abundance is (Fe)= 7.51± 0.01 dex. The average values of [Fe/H] in the solar neighborhood, the halo, and Galactic bulge are−0.2,−1.6, and−0.2

We calculate the evolution of heavy element abundances from C to Zn in the solar neighborhood adopting our new nucleosynthesis yields. Our yields are calculated for wide ranges of metallicity (Z = 0 − Z⊙) and the explosion energy (normal supernovae and hypernovae), based on the light curve and spectra fitting of individual supernovae. The elemental abundance ratios are in good agreement with ob...

Uncertainties in stellar nucleosynthesis and their impact on models of chemical evolution are discussed. Comparing the Type II supernova nucleosynthesis prescriptions from Woosley & Weaver (1995) and Thielemann, Nomoto, & Hashimoto (1996), it turns out that the latter predict higher Mg/Fe ratios that are more favorable in reproducing the observed abundance features of the Milky Way. Provided th...

Context. The evolution of the Milky Way bulge and its relationship with the other Galactic populations is still poorly understood. The bulge has been suggested to be either a merger-driven classical bulge or the product of a dynamical instability of the inner disk. Aims. To probe the star formation history, the initial mass function and stellar nucleosynthesis of the bulge, we performed an elem...
متن کاملThe galactic lithium evolution revisited
The evolution of the 7Li abundance in the Galaxy has been computed by means of the two-infall model of Galactic chemical evolution. We took into account several stellar 7Li sources: novae, massive AGB stars, C-stars and Type II SNe. In particular, we adopted new theoretical yields for novae. We also took into account the 7Li production from GCRs. In particular, the absolute yields of 7Li, as su...
